WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE – SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAM 2026!
The Village of Potsdam Parks and Recreation Department is excited to officially open registration for our 2026 Summer Recreation Program:

WHO CAN REGISTER
– Children ages 5–12
– Must be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2026
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)
– A completed registration form is required for all participants
– A copy of your child’s immunization (shot) record is REQUIRED for participation
– You DO NOT need the shot record to register
– If you already have a copy, you are strongly encouraged to upload it during registration
– If not uploaded at registration, it must be submitted BEFORE your child attends the program
PROGRAM SCHEDULE
– Weekly sessions run June 29 – August 7
– Program includes:
– Daily swimming
– Organized games & activities
– Safe, supervised environment

PRICING
Weekly Rates:
– Week 1 (Short Week):
– Potsdam Resident / Potsdam Central School District: $48
– Non-Residents: $64
– Weeks 2–6:
– Potsdam Resident / Potsdam Central School District: $60/week
– Non-Residents: $80/week
DAILY DROP-IN & PART-TIME OPTION (IMPORTANT DETAILS)
This program offers flexible attendance options:
Part-Time Weekly Attendance (Pre-Registered Days):
– Families can select specific days during a week in advance
– Daily Rate Applies:
– Potsdam Resident / Potsdam Central School District: $15/day
– Non-Residents: $20/day
– Example:
– 2 days/week (Resident) = $30
– 3 days/week (Non-Resident) = $60
– If you pre-register and space is available, your child’s spot is GUARANTEED for those selected days
Daily Drop-In (Day-Of Attendance):
– Potsdam Resident / Potsdam Central School District: $15/day
– Non-Residents: $20/day
– Designed for as-needed, day-of option
Important Requirements for BOTH Options:
– A completed application MUST be on file BEFORE attendance
– No child may attend without prior paperwork submitted
Availability Clarification:
– Part-time (pre-registered) attendance is guaranteed (as long as space was available at time of registration)
– Daily drop-in is NOT guaranteed and is accepted only if space is available that day
WEEKLY FAMILY CAP (SAME HOUSEHOLD – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)
To support families with multiple children, a weekly cost cap is in place:
– Applies to children living in the SAME household (same residence only)
– Applies to ALL attendance types:
– Full-week registration
– Part-time (pre-registered days)
– Daily drop-in usage within the same week
Maximum Weekly Cost Per Household:
– Potsdam Resident / Potsdam Central School District: $120/week total
– Non-Residents: $160/week total
This means:
– Your total combined cost for all children in the same household will never exceed the weekly cap
– Applies regardless of how many children attend or how many days are used in that week
Example (Resident Household):
– 1 child attends 3 days = $45
– 2 children attend 3 days each = $90
– 3 children attend full week = capped at $120 total
Important Clarifications:
– The cap is calculated weekly (Monday–Friday)
– Once your household reaches the cap, no additional charges are applied for that week
– All children must be registered and share the same household address
SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
– We believe every child should have access to summer fun
– Scholarships are available for qualifying families
IMPORTANT NOTES
– Registration is first come, first served
– Space is limited based on staffing and program capacity
