On behalf of the Village of Potsdam Department of Public Works, I would like to thank everyone for their patience as we continue to work on cleaning up from the past weekend storm. Unfortunately, we had a water main break on outer Pierrepont Avenue which drastically delayed our attempts to begin removing snow within the Village limits. As of this morning, we are currently underway and hope to have the Village cleaned up by this weekend. We have two sidewalk snowblowers working to open the Village’s sidewalks. Other crews are working to remove snow from parking lots, fire hydrants and side streets. We will have employees working from this morning through Saturday afternoon. I would ask residents to try to avoid parking on side streets, use extra caution when traversing intersections, and PLEASE do not allow children to play on or in the snowbanks along Village streets. Once again, thank you for your support and patience as we do our best to get the Village back to normal.
